If you're going to be anywhere near North Easton, Massachusetts, in August, I hope you'll join me for my first series of hiking-writing workshops. Don't worry. We won't actually write while we hike. (That would be dangerous.) Instead, we'll talk about how to start a book; how to keep your reader engaged; what to do when you get stuck in the middle of your story (because you will!), and other stuff, both serious and fun. This series of workshops, offered on Tuesdays in August from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Sheep Pasture in North Easton, is for writers age 15 and above. For younger writers, I'll see you guys on Wednesdays, August 5 and 19, in the children's room of the Ames Free Public Library. Yes, I'm coming back for my second year as writer-in-residence at the lovely Queset House . Can't wait!
