All my photos from this week's trip to Pennsylvania look lousy, but good grief. I wish you could see the school libraries in Bucks County, Pa. See those green jungle leaves hanging from the ceiling? How about the larger-than-life figures of Pippi Longstocking, Madeline, Harry Potter, and friends perched atop the bookshelves? What you can't see in this photo is the wall of notes and drawings from authors and illustrators who've visited. Richard Peck. Jack Gantos. Laurie Halse Anderson. Jon Agee. There are dozens more. And this is just one school, Newtown Elementary. I also visited Richboro (so fun!), Holland (go Hawks!), and Goodnoe, which was better than good. Thanks for a fun week, Bucks County buckeroos!
